Marni Cheverez, Head Coach
Marni Cheverez is in her 17th year as head coach of the Marquettes. A
former member of the Marquettes herself, she graduated from San Marcos High
in 1988 and has worked as a dance instructor for the United Spirit
Association for 12 years. During this time she has helped choreograph and
produce performances for the NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii and the New
Year Celebration parade in Paris, France. She has also choreographed for
various NFL, CBA and NBA professional dance teams. She has worked with
several top college dance teams including UCSB, UCLA, U of Arizona, UNLV,
Louisville and Memphis. Marni is a recipient of the National Innovative
Choreography Award. In addition to leading the Marquettes Dance Force to
national championships, she is also the head coach of the award winning
dance team, the La Colina Junior High School Emeralds.
Daniela Zermeno is in her 3rd year as JV Coach and is also a former
Marquette, graduating from San Marcos High School in 2007. Dancing
professionally since the age of 7, Daniela owns Fuego Gitano, a flamenco
dance studio. She is a National Dance Champion Soloist and was the 2009 Santa Barbara Senior Spirit of Fiesta.
